Rásaíocht Con Éireann is aware of the location of all twenty four greyhounds which were to be privately exported to Macau in May. Greyhound Racing Ireland wishes to advise that on foot of recent inspections and investigations by its Welfare Officers, it does not have any concerns regarding the current welfare of these greyhounds. Twenty three of the greyhounds are now back in training for a return to greyhound racing in either Ireland or the UK with the remaining greyhound, which has now been retired, being kept for breeding purposes. The Registered Owners/Licenced Trainers/Nominated Keepers of these twenty four greyhounds are fully responsible for the welfare of these greyhounds and there is a requirement on all to be fully compliant with Rásaíocht Con Éireann's Code of Practice and the Welfare of Greyhounds Act 2011. Sanctions will be imposed on those found to be in breach of the Welfare of Greyhounds Act 2011.
