Vincent McKenna has his team purring in recent weeks and he had another good winner at Newbridge on Friday with his promising youngster A Charda setting the standard in the second round of the TIME Nutrition & NTSC A3 525.
Showing plenty of pace and strength from the second turn, the daughter of Orchestrate and Highview Moment went between rivals early in the back straight to lead approaching halfway. It was all very easy thereafter with the April ’24 whelp running on strongly to beat Rosards Cheetah by five and a half lengths in 29.13.
BAZ TOO STRONG
Mike and Deborah Carrick sent out Harrogatetownbaz to go next fastest in Heat 2.
The veteran son of Slippery Robert stayed on best to lead on the run in for a two length verdict over Ballygannon Bolt in 29.24.
CRUZ AND GLOVES OBLIGE
Robertstown Cruz and Pennys Gloves won the remaining heats, with each posting 29.30.
Sean Harrison’s Robertstown Cruz (Ballymac Bolger/ Midas Fern) led early to see off Gimont Girl by two lengths, while Pennys Glove ran a good bend to move on at the second turn. Rosemary and Eugene Price’s son of Good News and Pennys Bobbyjo would go on to beat Dazl Twink Babe by a length and a half in 29.30.
