MICHAEL A WINNING TRAINER AFTER CHANCELLOR IMPRESSES

MICHAEL A WINNING TRAINER AFTER CHANCELLOR IMPRESSES

Ian Fortune

There was a notable winner at Dundalk on Friday night that nearly fell through the cracks. Chancellors Link caught the eye when emerging a superb winner on debut in 21.25. On closer inspection, it emerged that he is a litter brother to the recent Con & Annie Kirby Memorial, Knockeen Dazzler, but also a first winner for his young handler Michael Keenan.

Of course, Michael has been involved in greyhounds all his life and it’s perhaps no surprise his first winner as a private trainer was bred by the Matthews family in Newry given his links to the kennel through the years.

The manner of his success would suggest Chancellors Link will very likely be providing Michael with more wins in the near future. As first winners go, they don’t get much better and it’s only right to wish his young handler the best of luck in the future.
