Despite the rough weather conditions for both human and canines alike, there was another very successful sale at Kilkenny Track on Saturday morning.
Turnover once again topped the €60,000 mark and there was a high clearance rate of 85%.
After recording 29.79 on a track rated .40 slow, Dellser Jack topped the sale fetching an impressive €4,200. The October ’22 unraced son of Ballymac Bolger and Hopalong Clara moved well and looks one for the future.
The fastest trial of the day saw Hes Bizaar stop the clock in 29.55. The May ’22 race dog was later sold for €1,800. Dev, a Sep ’22 son of Broadstrand Bono & Gaytime Tilly, won his trial in 29.92 and was sold for €3,100.
Other notable sales include Honey Piper (€2,600), Carrickfergus (€2,600), Grouchos Stan (€2,500), On The Banks (€2,100), Vics Beth (€2,000) and Hannahs Pride (€2,000).
BUSY FRIDAY TO LOOK FORWARD TO
This Friday’s action at Kilkenny features the final of The T.P. Weadick Open 725.
The Sharon Hunt trained Tuono Charlie set a strong standard in the semis, posting a very fast 40.42 and will be one of the favourites to land the valuable prize.
Nothing will come easy, however, as he must face some very talented rivals including two stars of the from Liam Dowling’s ‘Ballymac’ operation, Kinturk Road and Ballymac Katie.
Racing will also feature the semi-finals of a number of sweepstakes including the Georgie Leahy Memorial A3. The finals of these sweepstakes will be run on Friday, July 19th which also happens to be a big fundraising night in aid of James Stephens GAA Club.
Entries invited for sponsored races on that night including an Open 525 worth €800 to the winner, an Open 725 worth €550 and an A1 525 worth €500.
