HOFFA THE SECOND ROUND THIRD BEND KING

Coolavanny Hoffa was a stunning winner of the opening heat of the second round of the Boylesports Irish Greyhound Derby, posting a sizzling 29.13 but the most remarkable part of the performance was the 16.80 he clocked to the third turn.
In doing so, he went considerably faster than any other greyhound in this year’s Derby and is now a clear favourite for outright success. The 16.80 stands up against the very best in recent years and will be very hard to beat through the remainder of the classic.
To highlight just how good the clock was, impressive winners Callaway Pro Am and Ballymac Finn were next fastest with a 17.01 return, some three lengths behind Coolavanny Hoffa.
Ballinabola Ed was next fastest as he posted 17.02. That came off the back of a 3.49 first split which makes it even more remarkable. Born Warrior and Cryptopunk also clocked well to the third turn with the former posting 17.04 and the latter 17.09.
