Barking Buzz Launches Next Generation Platform with Enhanced Features and Improved User Experience

Greyhound Racing Ireland (GRI) is  to delighted to announce the official launch of the nxt generation of Barking Buzz, the industry's greyhound Tote betting platform, on Tuesday, 5th August 2025.

This major upgrade brings a host of new features, visual enhancements, and data-driven tools designed to provide a faster, smarter, and more intuitive user experience across all devices.

For the first time ever, Barking Buzz will be available to download directly from the Google Play Store, in addition to its continued availability on Apple iOS and Web platforms.

Key Features of the Next Generation Barking Buzz:

*Brighter, Clearer Graphics: An improved visual experience with refreshed, user-friendly graphics.

*Race Numbering: Races are now displayed by number rather than time, based on user feedback.

*Live Card Updates: Non-runners and reserves now clearly listed in the “Changes” section.

*RaceLab Integration:
A new data-powered hub offering in-depth, real-time racing insights:

    • Tips: Expert summaries highlighting key contenders.
    • iRating: An intelligent 100-point rating system that compares runners relative to the expected winner.
    • Speed Maps: Predictive tools showing expected running positions and race pace.
    • Stats: Runner profiles including lifetime stats, pedigree, and performance history.
    • Flucs: View the last five odds changes per runner.
    • Runner Info: Key details such as age, sex, equipment, and colour.
  • Streamlined Betting Journey:
    Placing the popular Banker Trio bet now takes just 6 clicks, down from 14 on the old system.
  • Responsible Gambling Tools:
    Customers can now take more control of their betting with new account tools to:
    • Set personal limits
    • Take a break
    • Customise preferences

Important Account & App Update Information

*Existing Account Holders:
Depending on the current version of the app on your device, you may:

    • Be able to log in as normal
    • Be prompted to update your app
    • Need to re-download the app from the App Store or Google Play
  • New Account Registrations:
    To support the transition to the upgraded platform, new account creation will be temporarily paused between: Sunday, 3rd August at 22:00hrs and Wednesday, 6th August at 08:00hrs.
  • KYC documents can still be collected during this time, but accounts will not be live until after 08:00hrs on Wednesday, 6th August,

The all-new Barking Buzz delivers a modern, powerful betting experience tailored to today’s racing fan. Customers are encouraged to update or download the new app from the App Store, Google Play Store, or access via web from Tuesday, 5th August.
