GRI
Greyhound Racing Ireland (GRI) has announced the introduction of a new Local Sponsorship Incentive Scheme for the remainder of 2025, designed to encourage and reward local-driven efforts to attract new sponsors to greyhound racing.
Under the new scheme, GRI will match 50% of the value of any new sponsorship secured by local groups.
A “new sponsor” will be defined as any individual or business that has not sponsored at the stadium in the last three years, with final verification in cases where there may be overlap with existing arrangements.
Commenting on the announcement, Derek Frehill, Director of Racing at GRI, said. "Our local GOBA's and supporters’ clubs have always been passionate advocates for their stadiums, and this scheme is about recognising and empowering that commitment. By supporting new sponsorship, we are giving local groups the tools and the incentive to build lasting partnerships that will benefit the sport, the venues, and the communities we serve. We see this as an investment in sustainability, growth, and a stronger connection between our stadia and their local supporters."
The 2025 Local Sponsorship Incentive Scheme is now live and available to all stadia and guidelines have been issued to all participating stadiums and local groups.
