KINGDOM DERBY SUCCESS FOR TEAM BUCKLEY AS ROAD EXILE IS SIMPLY STUNNING

ROAD EXILE, trained by Pat Buckley for owner R.A.Colwell, ran out a brilliant winner of the €5,000 to the winner Eric Browne Memorial Kingdom Derby on Friday night.

Better known for his sensational performances over shortest distances, Road Exile followed up on last week's winning display with a sensational 28.02 winning run in the feature final.

Flashing from traps and clocking an impressive 2.96 sectional, the 10-1 shot was in total control right away. Another Buckley tracker, Superfast Gorden turned second and it was race on heading down the back straight. To be fair to Road Exile, he never gave the others a chance as he improved 44 spots from last week to deliver a stunning front running winning performance for team Buckley. It really was a performance of the highest order with Road Exile proving two and a half lengths too strong for Superfast Gorden, in 28.02. From a terrible draw, De Lahdedah showed big gears to finish third, half a length behind the runner up.
