Entries now being accepted for the Ballymac Anton @ Stud McCalmont Cup A1 / A2 525 at Kilkenny.

This year’s event, which is open to 48 runners, boasts a tremendous €5,000 winner’s purse. Back-graders are allowed and the entry fee is set at €30.

The wonderful prize is as a result of the continued support shown by Michael Dunne and all in Frightful Flash Kennels who will again sponsor one of the most prestigious events on the Kilkenny calendar. Of course, last year’s competition was won by the Murt Leahy trained Dark Devil and I’m sure Murt will be hunting the prize again in 2022.

SALES ENTRIES REQUIRED

Entries are now being accepted for the opening sales meeting of the year on Saturday, March 26th.

We recommended that all entries for the sale have an EU Passport with a rabies vaccination certified on Pet Passport by a veterinary surgeon (administered by March 5th).

A FEATURE TO LOOK FORWARD TO

Friday night’s racing at Kilkenny will feature the final of the RCETS A3 525.

Last week’s semi-finals were won by 2 young bitches with a bright future. Milestone Sivola, an April ’20 whelp, won her semi in a fast 28.98. She is a big finisher who looks to have a bright future, especially when stepped up in trip.

Ballybough Bela went slightly faster when winning her semi in 28.97. She displayed a nice turn of early speed and is another nice prospect for owner Murt Leahy/ Pat Carroll combination. Incidentally, five of the six finalists are bitches.
