Thunder Black (Ballymac Best-Eleanors Moment) made a most impressive winning debut in Youghal's opener last night, clocking 29.18 on debut.
Owned and trained by Kevin McLean, Clonmel, the May puppy showed massive all-round gears to land the spoils. Four and a half lengths back to Fantasy Jesse. An exciting young talent, the winner also gave the impression that much more was to come.
FIVE FOR KEHOE
Thurles handler Derek Kehoe enjoyed an amazing five-timer.
Slaneyside Adler was the first to oblige in the third, an A3, winning in 29.31, at odds of 9-4. In control early, he pulled clear to beat Witches Mercury, by eight lengths, in 29.31.
In the following race, Slaneyside Maisy completed the Kehoe double. A 3-1 shot for the A2 contest, the winner displayed her typical early pace to make all the running in 29.24. Portrait made late gains to get within two and a half lengths.
It was three on the night after the winning performance of Slaneyside Breda (11-4) in race eight, an A4 contest. A fine front running winning performance, back-to-back wins in 29.60.
The night got even better when Slaneyside Boy made it a four-timer. Showing massive early gears, the July youngster took the A2 contest with plenty to spare. Sent off at odds of 7-2, the exciting young talent came home with four lengths to spare over Hollyhill Davy, in 29.16.
In race 12, Slaneyside Envoy completed the wonderful five-timer. A 29.83 winning performance in the A4 contest, six and a half lengths clear of his nearest rival. All five winners were home bred and from different dams.
FALCON GOES QUICKEST
Falcon delivered a high-class performance to win race seven, an A0-A1.
Skylight Max led around the opening corners, but the 9-4 winner showed exceptional back straight pace to lead. Strong in front, the Michael Moloney owned runner, Garryvoe, came home with two lengths to spare over Skylight Max, in 28.96. (A0-A1).
