SHAUN’S TEAM IS PURRING AHEAD OF GOLD CUP

Ian Fortune

Just hours ahead of his biggest night in the sport thus far, Shaun Conway produced a display of real firepower on Friday night, recording a wonderful four-timer across three different tracks.

The young handler has been making quite a name for himself lately and will be hoping Lotto Other News can vault him to the next level in the final of the Tote Gold Cup at Shelbourne Park this evening.

The undoubted star of Shaun’s Friday four-timer was Prince Naseem in the final of the Joe Show ON2 at Kilkenny (See separate report). He is a young greyhound going places and Shaun is certain to be mapping out an ambitious campaign with his young son of Droopys Sydney.

As it happens, Conway’s three other winners on Friday were all half-siblings. The eldest of the three, Hes Made It, dictated throughout to win the penultimate race at Shelbourne in fine style, while both his winners at Newbridge look exciting.

Aoife Artist, a daughter of Ballymac Best and Shes Made It, ran out a ready winner in 28.85 while, three quarters of an hour later, her litter-sister Lotto Luck posted a fast 17.46 over two bends.

He would probably swap each of those four winners for success at Shelbourne Park this evening but win, lose or draw, it’s clear Shaun Conway is a man to keep on your radar. Best of luck to Shaun and Lotto Other News this evening.
