MOLLY AND DUSTY END 2023 ON 15 WINS

Ian Fortune

The old expression suggests that “early pace wins the races” and a glance at the rankings for greyhounds with the most wins in 2023 certainly doesn’t do anything to suggest otherwise with two real speedsters Rathdown Molly and Bogger Dusty topping the list with a wonderful 15 wins to their names.

Of course, both had to perform real heroics in recent weeks to top the list. Rathdown Molly actually captured the Christmas Oaks at Shelbourne Park on Friday last to earn her place at the head of the list, while Bogger Dusty won his final four races of 2023 to join Rathdown Molly.

Huge congrats must go to those connected to Rathdown Molly and Bogger Dusty. Both greyhounds were clearly happy with life through the year and no doubt they will be adding to their impressive career tally in the coming weeks.

Just behind the pair on the list was top sprinter Road Exile with 14 wins. The Pat Buckley trained star had some brilliant performances through the year and it’s no shock to see him so high on the list. Radioactive Boy was next with 13 wins while some big names ended the year on 12 wins including Kirby memorial and Leger champion Clonbrien Treaty, Cesarewitch winner Bobsleigh Dream and Laurels finalist Jacktavern Bolt.
