ROBBIE SHOOTS THE LIGHTS OUT IN CROKER

Rumour has it Kilkenny and their clubs are pretty handy at hurling.
Certainly, Thomastown proved their worth at the weekend, capturing the Intermediate All-Ireland Club Hurling final on Saturday in Croke Park.
It just so happens, a doggie man played a starring role in the success with Robbie Donnelly producing a wonderful display, scoring a total eight points. He was on free-taking duty and proceeded to score seven of his eight attempts with the other just dropping short.
By dropping that free short, he left a little wiggle room for his brother to maintain the bragging rights at home. You see, Robbie is a brother of leading handler Michael Donnelly. And anybody that knows Michael will be aware that he proclaims to be a smashing hurler.
It just so happens that Michael was on free-taking duty when Thomastown won the Junior All-Ireland success a few years back and he isn’t afraid to tell anyone that he scored every one.
Anyway, it is wonderful to see a doggy man front and centre on such a big occasion and huge congratulations to Robbie who is a regular in the tracks of Ireland. He will no doubt be at Kilkenny on March 22nd, as will most of the team as Thomastown are holding a large fundraiser.
