BURJ CHANGES HANDS AND GOES FOR DERBY

Ian Fortune

Burj Khalifa was one of the breakout performers in the English Derby, going very close to making the final when finishing fourth in the semis.

He backed up his fine run through the classic on final night, winning the penultimate race on the card in superb fashion.

He clearly caught the eye of Towcester supremo Kevin Boothby as he stepped in to purchase the massive son of Soul and Love Island. Kevin confirmed the news on Wednesday evening, stating he will stay with Brendan Matthews for a crack at the Boylesports Derby at Shelbourne Park before travelling to the UK where Diane Henry will be his trainer going forward.

Given his obvious appreciation for the Towcester circuit, it seems likely Burj Khalifa will be winning plenty more races around there in the future.
