SPORTING ARTURO came out on top in the final of the Ballymac Anton @ Stud/K.G.O.B.A Stakes final which carried a winner's prize of €2,600 in Tralee on Friday night.

Trained by Jerry Griffin for owner Arthur McCumiskey, the December puppy produced a decent start and the 7-2 winner took over soon after the opening corner. Once he hit the front, it was always going to take something special to real in the exciting young talent. A powerful performance up front, it was a really impressive 31.49 winning performance, with three lengths back to Dea Sceal in second place. Sporting Arturo has now won his last three outings and plenty more wins are expected in the coming weeks and months.
