While we knew for some time that he was unwell it still came as a shock when news filtered through last Monday (July 1st) that well known owner/breeder Vincent Morris from Rosslare Harbour was no longer with us.
A very popular man, Vincent enjoyed many victories at Enniscorthy and Waterford with his runners bearing the Bing prefix. He was a staunch supporter of SIS racing in Kilcohan Park and was one of the first owners to commit his runners to Thursday morning racing despite the early start of 8am at the time. Rosslare is not exactly close to Waterford but he made light of his one-hundred-mile round trip on Thursday’s and was never late with his runners at the venue despite journeys in all sorts of weather. To his wife Helen and family, we extended our deepest sympathy.
May his soul rest in peace.
