HURRICANE MAKES SUCCESSFUL START TO SALVER CAMPAIGN

A year after capturing the Kent Silver Salver at Central Park with Flashing Willow, Pat Buckley again has his sights on the most valuable sprint race in the UK. This year he is represented by Hopes Hurricane, who made a successful start to his campaign on Saturday.

Sent to traps the even money favourite in the final heat, the son of Droopys Sydney flew into the turn to take charge. He was lucky to stay on his feet at this point when clipped from behind but he quickly recovered, powering up the straight to win by three parts of a length in 16.58.
