DERBY BONUS SCHEME HIGHLIGHTS SUCCESS OF SYNDICATES

Ian Fortune

As many as five greyhounds are still in the running to claim the €1,500 bonus on offer to the winner of the last surviving Syndicate owned greyhound in the Boylesports Irish Greyhound Derby.

It certainly highlights the success of syndicates and while those involved in Ballinabola Jim, Cheap Sandwiches, Callaway Knegare, Bockos Diamond and Seven Beach are aiming to win the biggest prize of all, the bonus for top Syndicate dog would be a nice cherry on top.

REMAINING BONUSES

The battle for the Last Remaining Bitch €2,000 bonus is down to two with A Lucky Julie and Singalong Dolly the only ladies left in the classic, while the two remaining bonuses have already been claimed. Short Grip won the €1,500 prize on offer for last remaining owner/trained greyhound, while Kapuka Warrior claimed the €1,500 bonus as the last remaining Derby Trial Stake winner on countback.
