Friday night’s action at Shelbourne Park was of a good standard, although there was one standout display in the semi-finals of the grireland.ie A3 525 as Legolas posted a brilliant 28.19, perhaps announcing himself as a potential star of the future.
The well bred son of Crash and Limini had shown ability at Kilkenny in the early rounds of the Champion Unraced but this was a much more polished display. Owned jointly by Paul and Caroline Cronin, the October ’20 whelp led up the fence and proceeded to pull right away.
At the line, he had just over ten lengths to spare on Balymac Bonner. It was a hell of a display from a greyhound with such limited experience and he’s clearly one with a bright future. Incidentally, Paul Cronin later completed a superb double with Droopys Timing getting loose in the eighth race in 28.69.
