It was apt that Royal Hotshot would emerge triumphant in the valuable Up The Royals A2/A3 decider at Dundalk on Saturday night.
Trained in the Royal County by Nalin Monerawela, the daughter of Ballymac Cashout and Aayamza Royale chose the right night to produce a career best effort.
Drawn in two, she shot from traps to dispute the lead into the bend alongside Beretta Brandi before making the most of her inside line. A length to the good into the back straight, she would move on by nearly three lengths to halfway.
Beretta Brandi would remain second with Sling Your Hook trying to challenge in third but Royal Hotshot remained in pole position. Beretta Brandi did begin to close the gap as they turned for home but the €4,000 prize would go to Lorraine Hyde-Banning and her bitch Royal Hotshot. The talented August ’23 whelp would contain Beretta Brandi by three parts of a length in 28.57 with Sling Your Hook another six and three quarter lengths further adrift in third.
