BOOMER AND STUD FASTEST TO THIRD TURN

Honour of going fastest to the third turn on Saturday night in the third-round heats of the BOYLE Sports Irish Greyhound Derby was shared by Shanahee Boomer and Ballymac Stud.

Both were hugely impressive in their respective wins, and they became just the third and fourth greyhounds to dip under the 17 second barrier in this year’s classic.

Posting a rapid 16.99, they went just over a half-length quicker than fastest heat winner Proper Heiress, who moved well with a 17.03 return to the third turn.

Singalong Curly, after posting 17.27 in the second round, went over two and a half lengths faster as he posted 17.09, while both Magical Mag and Unanimous Leo led to the third turn in 17.14.
