CINDY FASTEST IN WHEATLEY MEMORIAL

Kiltegan Cindy was fastest in the second round of the second round of the Eamon Wheatley Memorial at Newbridge on Friday night, posting 29.14 to see off last week’s fastest heat winner Mylerstown Nell by a length.

Owned by Thomas Foley and Cindy Nolan, the young daughter of Ballymac Best and Ballybough Carol was prominent from the start behind Dobbsey but rallied in the latter stages to get up late for a length verdict over Mylerstown Nell.

MAJOR NEXT QUICKEST

Michael Ryan’s Florida Major was next fastest, coming home in front in Heat 2.

Florida Major struck the front on the turn and proceeded to make every inch thereafter. The son of Magical Bale and Try Again Ella hit the line four lengths clear of Twilight Vinnie in 29.19.

DARRAGH IN A TIGHT FINISH

Tightest finish of the night came in Heat 3 with Home Darragh getting the better of Snazzy Cinnamon and Swift Hazed by a head and a short head in 29.40.

Joe Campbell’s Home Darragh was always to the fore before containing fast finishing Snazzy Cinnamon.

LADY WINS FINAL HEAT

Mary and Jerry Melia were on the mark in the final heat.
