DANICA OUT LEAVING 53 IRISH AT TOWCESTER

Ian Fortune

It was no surprise to see Ballymac Danica taken out of the English Derby yesterday afternoon, just days after being a non-runner in the final of the Limerick Oaks.

Liam Dowling reported she had picked up a small niggle in the semis of the Limerick event but also that she had come in season.

It means Liam Dowling will have eight runners in the opening round next week and he is set to trial five of his team this afternoon. Brendan Maunsell is also set to trial In Good Time and Jim By Two, while Pat Buckley also trials twelve of his thirteen-strong entry.
