FALCO TO FLY IN RE-RUN ISLANDBRIDGE HEAT

Romeo Falco can show his class to come home in front in the re-run opening round heat of the Islandbridge Open Sprint at Shelbourne Park this evening.

The contest kicks off proceedings at HQ and it’s hard to oppose the Graham Holland trained star after a massive run in the voided contest seven days ago. There was a slight delay to the lifting of the lids last week although it didn’t affect A New Addition.

He displayed massive early speed to open a clear advantage in the early yards but he had no answer to Romeo Falco from halfway. With a similarly clear passage into the turn, Romeo Falco can show his pace, power and class at the expense of A New Addition and Robbies Tiger.

PROMISING YOUNGSTERS ON SHOW

Later on the card the opening round heats of the Retired Greyhound Trust ON2/ON3 can offer some promising youngsters the opportunity to make a good start to their racing career. Val Tashadelek is chosen to win the opening heat for Neilus O’Connell, while the very well bred Bisto Kid is the choice in

Heat 2. John Kennedy’s son of Droopys Sydney and former star tracker Billys Diva can make the most of an ideal draw on the fence.

Mind Body Spirit also has a tremendous pedigree and Brendan Matthews’ daughter of Ballymac Bolger and Unlock Unlock is selected to come home clear in the last of the three heats.
