FINE DISPLAYS APLENTY AT DUNDALK

Saturday’s action at Dundalk featured a number of fine displays, both on the undercard and in the feature events.

The final of the Track Supporters Club A1 525 saw Rolo Eugenie dominate in a fast time, while there were three good winners in the opening round of the Up The Royals A2/A3 525.

EUGENIE HAS TOO MUCH FOR RIVALS

Rolo Eugenie was razor sharp for Barry Clancy and owner John Scofield.

A daughter of Malachi and Distant Sal, she was completing a hat trick as she made every inch. Posting a rapid 2.45 sectional, she never saw a rival as she came home four and a half lengths clear of Beretta Johnson in 28.34.

PASHA IMPRESSES

As it happens the fastest run in the Up The Royals A2 came from another talented type under the ownership of John Scofield. Rolo Pasha, trained by Damian Maginn, was a superb winner of the opening heat.

Prominent early, she found traffic on the turn and was relegated to fourth only to move through the gears to halfway. Going second by the third turn, the daughter of Ballymac Cooper and Distant Aoife took charge before the final turn and then held the late efforts of Ravenswood Cass by a length and a quarter in 28.75.

TERRY MAKES ALL

Next fastest was Cullmac Terry in the last of the three heats.

Trained by Brendan Cullen for the Lord of the Rings Syndicate, the son of Droopys Sydney and Tarsna Rose got loose early to emerge a length winner over Mandeville Pats in 28.89.

BLAZE LEAVES IT LATE

In contrast, the remaining heat was won from well off the pace by noted big finisher Coolemount Blaze.

Michael Doyle and Dermot Smith’s son of Orchestrate and Highview Jewel came with a withering challenge to beat Sing Hallelujah by a short head in 29.16.
