GLENGAR ROBIN SIMPLY AWESOME AT KILKENNY

Glengar Robin was simply in a league of her own at Kilkenny on Friday night as she went within two lengths of the 525yd track record in the opening round of the BOYLE Sports A3 Bitch 525.

Each of the five heat winners were impressive in their own way but Glengar Robin gave notice that she will be a force moving forward. Certainly, this will be her last chance to shine in graded company for some time after she posted a stunning 28.63 to win her heat by over a dozen lengths.

The Pat Buckley trained daughter of Shima Shine and Newinn Liz didn’t actually break as fast as the Other Robyn in three, taking a step right from four, but she quickly moved through the gears. Showing outstanding early speed, she was clear by the turn and proceeded to increase her advantage with each impressive stride.

Owned by the aptly named Four Leaf Clover Syndicate, Glengar Robin opened her account by twelve and a half lengths with The Other Robyn second and Community Sport another length and a half away in third.

ZOOMEY LIVES UP TO HER NAME

To highlight the strength of the run, Away Zoomey was next fastest when winning Heat 3 in 29.04. leading early for Alan Quinn and Murt Leahy, the daughter of Grangeview Ten and Gentle Trend eventually saw off Foulkscourt Pet by seven and a half lengths.

SAMI COMPLETES A MURT DOUBLE

Just behind her on the clock was her kennel companion Droopys Sami in Heat 2.

Trained by Murt Leahy for the Leahy Ladies Syndicate, she seemed to learn plenty from her two previous outings and was much sharper at boxes, making all from the inside draw to see off Tell On Ruby by eight lengths in 29.05.

BONNIE AND SURVIVOR ALSO SCORE

Burgess Bonnie (Deerjet Sydney/ Burgess Rapid) took the final heat for JJ Fennelly and Paraic Campion. She too made virtually all, coming home two lengths clear of Allstar Tony in 29.21.

The opening heat went the way of Patrick Wilson’s Annual Survivor (Grangeview Ten/ Glory Survivor). Despite running a with path throughout, she was always close to the pace. Going to the front into the third turn, she surrendered her lead off the final turn but rallied to see off Lemon Sin by a head in 29.32.
