IRGT LAUNCH NEW FOSTER TO ADOPT SCHEME

IGB

The Irish Retired Greyhound Trust (IRGT) have launched their new Foster to Adopt scheme today, with the aim of offering would-be adopters the chance to experience life with a retired greyhound.

Potential adopters and fosterers simply need to contact the Irish Retired Greyhound Trust to get started. The IRGT will obtain information on the family and their property, including photos and videos to ascertain suitability.

If their home is suitable, the IRGT will then match them with suitable greyhounds and arrange a meeting in compliance with HSE guidelines and following strict hygiene protocols. If all parties are happy with the meeting, the IRGT will allow the greyhound to be fostered.

Once all restrictions are lifted and people are returning to work, the fosterers can then further to process to complete adoption if they wish.

Anyone interested in fostering can contact the IRGT directly.
