JOHN & MARY KILLEACLE DOWLING A1 570 GETS UNDERWAY IN THE KINGDOM

Barry Drake

The opening round heats of the €5,000 to the winner John & Mary Killeacle Dowling Memorial A1 570 take centre stage at the Kingdom tonight.

Daleroad Best, for John O'Keeffe, is of interest in the opening heat. The selection has some strong form in the book, and he's expected to deliver a big performance. The drop in class is a big plus, and if he puts his best foot forward, he should go very well.

In the second heat, Tassie Tomboy, trained by Pat Buckley for Ger Power, is worth another chance in this. The April puppy delivered a stunning 28.49 winning run on debut, and although below that form since, he could well lead all the way here.

Local trainer Jack Kennelly can strike in the third, Solid Greedy should be in the mix for owners the Any Ideas Syndicate. The June puppy has kept good company in recent outings, catching the eye on more than one occasion. This is a drop in class, and he's selected to get off the mark for the first time on outing number four.

Coolavanny Shona, trained by Neilus O'Connell for Patrick Griffin, stands out in the fourth and final heat. That was an eye-catching performance in defeat last time out, and with a half-decent start in this, she should be hard to hold.
