KATHLEEN MURPHY

Greyhound racing lost a great friend over the weekend with the passing of Kathleen Murphy following a long illness.

Known by so many involved in dogs, she and her partner Dominic were big sponsors in the sport as the driving force behind the Greyhound & Petworld, Abbeyfeale.

A lovely lady with a real honesty, she had many friends in the sport and will be missed by everyone that knew her.

We would like to take this opportunity to send our sincere condolences to Dominic, her daughter Aoife, son Liam, her son and daughter in law, her brothers and sisters, her beloved grandchildren, extended family and many friends.

May She Rest In Peace.

Kathleen Murphy (née O’ Gorman), Killacullen, Tournafulla, Co. Limerick and (Greyhound & Pet World Abbeyfeale), passed away peacefully, in the care of the Palliative Care Team, University Hospital Kerry, on Saturday 12th September 2026, with her family by her side.

Predeceased by her parents Nance and Denny O’ Gorman, her siblings Liam, Maura, Tommy and Joan and her grandson Cian.

Kathleen is very sadly missed by her partner Dominic, daughter Aoife, son Liam, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, brothers, sisters, sisters-in-law, adored grandchildren Ellie Kate, Josh and Frankie, extended family, nieces, nephews, neighbours and her great circle of friends.

Reposing at Harnett’s Funeral Home, The Square, Abbeyfeale, Co. Limerick (V94 AK44), on Tuesday 15th September 2026, from 6.00 p.m. until 8.00 p.m. Requiem Mass for Kathleen will be celebrated at St. Patrick’s Church Tournafulla, on Wednesday, 16th September, at 11.00 a.m. followed by interment in the adjoining St. Patrick’s Cemetery.

Kathleen fought her illness to the end with courage, strength and dignity. Breathe easy Kathleen.
