The Kilkenny A1/A2 Derby will have a new sponsor this year following the news that English Derby and Oaks winning owner, Lee Craze is to support the traditional September showpiece.
There will also be a boost to the prize-fund with a further contribution from the Kilkenny Greyhound Owners And Breeders Association meaning this year’s winner will receive a whopping €10,000.
The €22,000 Lennies Derby A1/A2 will commence on Friday, September 4th. It’s for 36 greyhounds and space will be at a premium given the competition is also open to back-graders.
All at Kilkenny Greyhound Stadium would like to acknowledge and thank Lee Craze for his generosity, while also acknowledging our outgoing sponsor Gavin O’Mahoney and JAG Building Services who initially came on board for 3 years but ended up sponsoring the event for memorable 6 years.
Sponsors are hugely important to all in the sport of greyhound racing and are greatly appreciated by all owners, trainers and breeders. A word of thanks also to the local KGOBA who have continued to boost prizemoney throughout the year.
