NOTABLE MALONE DOUBLE AT DUNDALK AS VERDE GOES QUICK

Ian Fortune

As predicted on this very page yesterday morning, Pat Malone sent out a double in the semi-finals of the Track Supporters Club A2 525 at Dundalk on Friday night with Shelone Verde again setting a strong standard as he emerged a wide-margin winner before his brother Shelone Boss followed up a few minutes later.

Shelone Verde was always in charge. Breaking smartly from trap four, he dominated to leave his rivals chasing shadows. The son of Ballymac Cashout and Grove Zenyatta would eventually emerge a five and a half length winner over Ravenswood Boss in 28.60.

BOSS LEAVES IT LATE

His brother had to work somewhat harder in the second heat. he went up well from six but took a hefty bump on the turn.

This left him lengths behind Lisa Lashes but he flew from halfway to close on the leader. Taking control inside the final fifty yards, he then held off the charge of Fercullen Hope to win by a half length in 29.29.
