Michael O’Donovan is readying his very talented team for a Derby challenge and three of his best were in action at Shelbourne Park ahead of racing on Friday night with Bouncing Monarch sending out a loud warning to his potential Derby rivals with a stunning 27.82 return.

Ballycowen Frank has also been amongst the best in training in 2026 and he flew around in 28.09, while Hackney Plan is clearly on the way back and moved well as he posted 28.22.

KANE FLIES IN SPRINT

Other notable trials on the night included an 18.47 spin over 350yds from Glengar Kane.

Ballyea Warrior recorded 18.60, while Hackney Corner clocked 18.71.
