NOTHING TO SPLIT BOCKOS GOLD AND BALLYMAC SETANTA AHEAD OF KIRBY DECIDER

Peter Farrell

Bockos Gold and Ballymac Setanta produced two exceptional displays in last night’s Con & Annie Kirby semi-finals, but the trap draw for next Saturday’s €80,000-to-the-winner final looks to have presented more questions than answers.

The market reflects that uncertainty, with both runners installed as joint 7/4 favourites.

BOYLE Sports were quick to price up the decider and could not split the pair at the head of the betting. UK challenger Bouncing Monarch appears to have come out best in the draw and looks attractively priced at 11/4, while litter brother Beanos Yank is next in at 8/1. Ballycowen Frank (12/1) and Jaykay Fly (33/1) make up the field, though both appear to have been dealt a particularly tough hand by the draw.
