It is with deep regret that we note the passing of our former colleague Paddy O’Gorman of Shantalla, Galway, a sad loss to his family, friends and to all who knew him.
This sad news occurred during the Talking Dogs Christmas hiatus, and for that reason we are only now bringing it to the attention of our readers.
Paddy was a well-known and much-respected figure within the greyhound racing community, with decades of involvement in the sport through his work at Galway Greyhound Stadium. He was deeply proud of his lifelong association with racing and the friendships it brought.
Only earlier this year, Paddy was in his element at the Irish Greyhound Derby, enjoying the occasion and relishing the opportunity to meet friends and colleagues he had known throughout his many years in the sport. It was a fitting reminder of the esteem in which he was held and the enjoyment he continued to take from the racing community.
Paddy will be fondly remembered for his warmth, dedication and the genuine friendships he formed over a lifetime in greyhound racing. The full arrangement are available to read here: Death Notice of Paddy O'Gorman (Shantalla, Galway) | rip.ie
We extend our sincere sympathies to Paddy’s family and friends at this difficult time.
