GRI
Rásaíocht Con Éireann/Greyhound Racing Ireland (GRI) is pleased to announce the implementation of a new SIS Prizemoney distribution structure, effective the week commencing February 24, 2025. This decision follows a comprehensive survey conducted by the Irish Greyhound Owners and Breeders Federation (IGOBF) on behalf of GRI to gauge the preferences of owners and trainers regarding the allocation of "run money."
The survey, which was proposed by GRI during the last survey of owners and trainers in early 2024, revealed a significant majority in favour of returning to a €40 run money allocation. The remaining prizemoney will be distributed between the Winner and Runner-Up.
"We are committed to ensuring that the prizemoney distribution reflects the preferences of our stakeholders," said Derek Frehill, Director of Racing, GRI. "The feedback from the survey has been invaluable, and we believe that this structure will support the owners and trainers who are the backbone of our sport."
The new SIS Prizemoney distribution aims to provide a fair and balanced approach, ensuring that all participants are adequately rewarded for their contributions to the SIS racing product and will commence from 24th February 2025.
