SETANTA AND BOCKOS REMAIN LOCKED AT TOP OF LEGER BETTING

Peter Farrell

Following eleven top-class opening-round heats of the 1XBet Irish St. Leger at Limerick last Saturday night, it’s as you were at the head of the outright market, with Ballymac Setanta and Bockos Gold both installed as 4/1 joint favourites to land the Classic.

Ballymac Setanta came out on top in his opening-round clash with Bockos Gold, however, it was a hugely encouraging return from the reigning Irish Derby champion, so it comes as little surprise to see the duo locked together in the betting ahead of this weekend’s second round.

Both Wi Can James and Ballymac Deniro landed their opening-round assignments in emphatic fashion, emerging as wide-margin winners, and they are next in the betting at odds of 8/1. Swords Diamond was the quickest opening-round winner for Graham Holland and has seen his odds shorten to 10/1, alongside Getup The Boy. Roaming Shelby and Lennies Dynamic also recorded impressive opening-round victories and both are chalked up at 12/1.
