Shelbourne Park Museum Officially Opens

On Thursday, 26th September, Shelbourne Park celebrated a momentous occasion with the official opening of the Shelbourne Park Museum. The event was hosted by RCÉ Chairman Pat Flanagan, who had the honor of inaugurating the museum. This significant milestone coincided with the much-anticipated return of Thursday night racing, marking the venue’s return to their original schedule of three racing nights per week: Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.

The newly refurbished stadium was unveiled to the public, showcasing a range of enhanced facilities designed to elevate the visitor experience. Among the new additions are the South Lotts Terrace Cafe, The Shelbourne Park Sports Bar, Food Hall serving fast food and cavery options, and The 1927 Lounge, each offering unique amenities and services. The new Shelbourne Park Museum stands as a testament to the rich history and heritage of greyhound racing, providing an engaging and educational experience for all visitors.

Chairman Pat Flanagan expressed his delight stating, “The first look at the newly refurbished venue, along with the opening of Shelbourne Park Museum and the return of Thursday night racing signify a new era for our community and the sport. We are thrilled to welcome everyone to enjoy the new facilities and celebrate our shared passion for greyhound racing.”
