There was great news from the UK this morning with Suffolk Downs finally opening their doors.

Formerly known as Mildenhall, the track has been closed since January 2018 but it reopened this morning under the stewardship of Towcester supremo Kevin Boothby.

Boothy is, of course, also responsible for Henlow, while he also hopes to reopen Oxford in the coming months. This morning’s meeting got underway at 8.12am and the first race of the Suffolk Downs era was won by the Jim Daly trained Sudoky Sullivan.

It’ a tight track with a standard trip of 388m but it ran extremely well this morning and the surface looks in wonderful shape. The best of luck to all involved in the venue and we look forward to Oxford rejoining the roster in the near future.
