The semi-finals of the €3,000 to the winner Timmy Ward Memorial A1 Stake were the feature races at the Kingdom Greyhound Stadium on Friday night.

Ptterdale Timmy (Ballymac Cashout-Patterdale Lena) made the most of the inside line at the opening corner when going quickest in the second heat for Sally Mounsey.

The 7-4 favourite moved two lengths clear of Runfortheroses to halfway, and he looked in total control up front. Montore Magic was showing all sorts of speed late on; however, the line came in time, and Patterdale Timmy held Montore Magic, by the shortest of margins, in 28.40.

Three and a half lengths back to Daleroad Best in third place.

In the opening heat, Carrig Cartel (2) (Ballymac Cashout-Confident Petal) made it back-to-back wins with another superb front-running winning performance.

Trained by Jack Kennelly for owners the Carrig Four Syndicate, punters who took the short odds never had a moment's worry as the 4-6 favourite came away racing to win the all-important early lead. Powering clear on the back straight, the impressive winner was soon clear.

Lisscassey Liam made big late gains, getting within three lengths at the line, in 28.45. Coolavanny Haden was third, two lengths behind the runner-up.
