Ohtheretom made it three wins on the bounce in Dundalk’s feature on Saturday night, the second round of the Paddy & Eamon Carroll Memorial A3/A4 525. Drawn in two in the second of the four heats, the Kurtis Bain trained son of Droopys Got It and Ohtheresky gave notice that he is a rapidly improving youngster with a bright future.
A little flat-footed at traps, he shot into the turn to assert on the corner. It was all pretty straightforward thereafter. Owned by the Liquorice Allsorts Syndicate, the October ’24 puppy proceeded to pull clear before coasting home an easy four and three quarter length winner over Highview Cert in 28.81.
DANCER FIRES FROM OUTSIDE BOX
Barnhill Dancer wasn’t far behind on the clock in the opening heat.
Val Roger’s son of Droopys Got It and Cherbear shot from the outside box and was in charge from the outset. Sing Hallelujah was second throughout but Barnhill Dancer emerged an easy four length winner in 28.87.
BLAZE FINISHES LIKES A TRAIN
Michael Doyle and Dermot Smith were on the mark in Heat 3 as Coolemount Blaze finished strongly to come through in the closing yards.
A long way off the pace at halfway, he drew closer around the last two bends before unleashing a power-packed effort on the run in. The son of Orchestrate and Highview Jewel flew to the front to win by a length and a half from Blue Rinse in 29.31.
MAKEDATUP COMPLETES A DOUBLE FOR DOYLE AND SMITH
In contrast to his kennel companion Coolemount Blaze, Makedatup won the final heat from the front to complete a double for Michael Doyle and Dermot Smith.
Flashing from trap six, the son of Orchestrate and Highview Audi was challenged for much of the way and briefly headed around the last two bends by Ravenswood Roo before rallying on the run in to strike the front and hold Cloughtaney Joy by a short head in 29.19.
