TUONO CHARLIE A STAR ATTRACTION IN THE KINGDOM MCP GROUP 750

Barry Drake

Leading stayer Tuono Charlie can make it 11 wins on the trot in tonight's fifth race in Tralee, heat number two in the opening round of the €7,000 to the winner MCP Group 750-yard stake.

A recent winner of the Corn Cuchulainn around Shelbourne Park, the Sharon Hunt-trained superstar previously won the Deadly Kennels Open 750 around Curraheen Park and he's expected to deliver another big front running winning performance in this. On form, it should be all one-way traffic upfront. Brendan O'Shea's Crossfield Auric has plenty of speed and he's the main danger to the selection. That was an eye-catching performance last time out and he should be in the mix.

In the third heat, Kinturk Road should take a great deal of beating for trainer Liam Twomey. No stranger to big performances, the selection should take plenty of stopping on home turf. It looks like a good opportunity to make a winning return to racing action.

Riverside Scotch, for Graham Holland and Droopys Comrade, for Fraser Black can battle it out in the opening heat, with a narrow vote to the last named. In the fourth and final heat, Ballyhooly Teejay has strong form in the book and he's the one to beat for trainer Tom O'Neill.

It's a fantastic addition to the racing calendar in the Kingdom and it's certain to provide top-class racing over the next couple of weeks.
