On behalf of Bord na gCon and the Irish Retired Greyhound Trust, I would like to thank all owners and trainers for their attendance and support at the record breaking IGB/IRGT/GAIN East of Ireland Retired Greyhound Show on Sunday 3rd July and a really big thank you to all of the Junior Handlers who assisted with the showing of these wonderful greyhounds on the day. Thanks also to Mr. Michael Murphy of The Canine Country Club and Cattery, Kileenmore, Sallins, Co. Kildare for the use of his facilities for the Show, to the event sponsors GAIN, to Mr. Dario Ferrario from EGN, Italy who was the Judge on the day and to Ms. Dolores Ruth and Mr. Harvey Marysael (Greyhound Rescue Belgium) for the wonderful photos which they took on the day. All 44 retired greyhounds which competed were looking magnificent in the Show ring and were a credit to their owners and handlers. Again thank you to all owners and trainers for taking part and for anyone who contributed in any way to making the day a tremendous success. The All-Ireland Retired Greyhound Show Finals, which will be for the winners at the South of Ireland Show, West of Ireland Show, North of Ireland Show and the East of Ireland Show, will be held at Harold’s Cross Greyhound Stadium on Saturday 30th July with a commencement time of 11am.
