It’s a huge week for Enniscorthy track with the south eastern venue celebrating 90 years on Thursday and the week got off to a great start on Monday with the opening round of the Public House ON1 providing some promising displays including that of Miami Prince as he dipped under the 29 second barrier to set the standard.

Trained by Garry Dempsey for Johnny Donohoe and Tom O’Donnell, the well bred son of Droopys Sydney and Yahoo Doll was dominant in Heat 4 as he came home eight lengths clear of Effernogue Sam in 28.99.

ROCKET NEXT FASTEST

To put that run into context, Eimear and Donal Kehoe’s Tomahurra Rocket was next fastest when coming home in front in the opening heat in 29.23.

The son of Laughil Blake and Tomahurra Ciara was always close to the pace before taking over down the back straight. Once doing so, he eased right away to win by nine and a half lengths from Janes Runaway.

ROCKY EMERGES AN EASY WINNER

Edermine Rocky, owned by Thomas and Pat O’Gorman, won the next heat in very similar fashion.

The son of Cushie Jet and Edermine Cooper moved to the front down the back straight and went on to hit the line six and a half lengths clear of Toker Paulie in 29.32.
