DOUBLES AND TREBLES IN YOUGHAL BUT HEADLINES GO TO KNOCKBOY BORIS

Monday's racing at Youghal produced some high-class racing and the performance of the night came from the well-backed Knockboy Boris.

In the ownership of David and John O'Herlihy, Boris came away running from the inside of the track and once he slipped around in front, it was always going to take something special to reel him in. Slaneyside Todd showed massive pace in defeat, but the one up front wasn't for denying. A magnificent 28.87 winning performance, half a length margin and the front two pulled five lengths clear of the third.

Portrait (4-1) followed up on his impressive recent winning performance with another stunning display in race number eight, an A0-A1. Marian Moloney's dog was brave throughout, getting the better of Marlfield Niamh early on, he then dug deep in the closing stages to fend off the strong late finish of Ballydorgan Duke. A length the margin, in 29.16.

LIAM TWOMEY TREBLE
Without a win since September, Witches Utah returned to winning ways in the second, an A7-A8, for the Lisgoold kennel of Liam Twomey. The 6-1 outsider won easily, in 29.93.

Witches Colombia made it two on the night for the Twomey kennel when gaining an overdue success in race five. Always towards the head of affairs, the 2-1 joint favourite stopped the clock, in 30.07. (A6).
Witches Atlanta made it a treble for the Twomey family when making the most of the rails pitch to win race number 11. Backed from 5-2 into 2-1, the well-backed winner stopped the clock, in 29.57.

TRAINER JAKE FAUL IN FLYING FORM
Youghal trainer Jake Faul is a great supporter of greyhound racing and he's always promoting our great sport on social media.

The local kennel is hitting the winners in recent meetings and he recorded a fine double at the seaside venue on Monday night.
Cut Your Cloth was the first to oblige when winning for Jake's mother, Ber Faul. She turned in a dangerous position and the 3-1 shot ran on best in the closing stages. A return to winning form, in 30.23.
The Faul double was completed after the winning performance of Inniskeen Mandy in race 12. The September puppy was winning on her second career outing, clocking 30.47 in the A9 and just getting the better of Refuse To Fail, by a neck. A good night all round for the Faul family.
