FIVE WINS ON THE SPIN FOR KILVIL ROBERT IN BORNA DECIDER AT THURLES

FIVE WINS ON THE SPIN FOR KILVIL ROBERT IN BORNA DECIDER AT THURLES

Peter Farrell

Kindly sponsored by the Dwan Family, the final of the €2,000 to the winner Borna Kennels A4 525 was the highlight last Saturday night at Thurles Park and it was Kilvil Robert who maintained his unbeaten run in the stake with a narrow victory.

Owned by the Kilvil-Syndicate, Kilvil Robert may have been bidding to complete an unbeaten streak in the stake but he was also bidding to secure a fifth straight victory, a brilliant feat for any grade of greyhound. The 6/4 favourite at the off, Kilvil Robert broke smartly from trap two and he disputed the early running with both Kylenoe Maid and Epic King. Trouble was to ensue at the opening corner however, and this was to play into the paws of Kilvil Robert as quickly manufactured a five length advantage down the back from the improving Freedom Sonia in second. The latter was to make a real fist of it thereafter as she continued to close around the bottom two bends but Kilvil Robert, a son of Ballymac Best and In A Heartbeat, was to hold firm and grab the win. Just three parts of a length separating the duo, the time was 29.63 .20s.

Many thanks are extended to the Dwan Family for their continued support of Thurles Greyhound Stadium.
