Ballymac Malinas may have suffered a slightly disappointing defeat in the opening round of the Shelbourne Maiden Derby but he has been tightened up at the top of the betting by BOYLE Sports and is now just 5-2 to land the valuable prize.
The fawn son of Ballymac Cooper has a kind draw on Saturday night in the semi-finals and will look to start a bit better from trap three. If doing so, the 5-2 on offer could look generous come the end of Saturday’s action at HQ.
His nearest rivals in the market are Magical Fiona and Riverside Rex at 4-1. The latter set the standard last week,. showing great all-round pace to emerge a good winner and is clearly a big player in the competition.
Magical Fiona was eliminated from the TIME Club A4 Derby at Limerick after going too fast in the second round. There was no judgement following her brilliant opening round success in the Maiden Derby and is rapidly developing into a star.
The early paced Harvard Square is the only other runner at single figure odds at 8-1. The fill market can be seen below.
