PLENTY OF QUALITY ON SHOW IN DUBLIN

Tonight’s card at Shelbourne Park will feature some superb sweepstake action.

There is just one stake final but there are many sweepstake semi-finals on the undercard with a number of potentially very talented youngsters in action.

COLEY LOOKING TO CONFIRM LATEST FORM

The final of the Barking Buzz A2 525 boasts €2,000 to the winner and Carrick Coley and Shebeen Flyer seem set to dominate the market after both were hugely impressive in the semis.

The former set the standard for David Murray and owner Thomas Glynn in the semis and is clearly developing into a very talented tracker.

A half brother to Oaks and Laurels winner Crafty Shivoo, he flashed from traps last week and eventually saw off his nearest rival by ten lengths in a stunning 28.18. A repeat of that form would almost certainly be good enough to see him come home in front tonight, although the Markl Robinson trained Shebeen Flyer is far from an also-ran.

Daniel Curtis’ young son of Dromana Bucko was less than three lengths slower than his rival last week, coming home fourteen lengths clear in 28.38. He continues to improve and is seen as the obvious danger.

MAGICAL TO LOOK NIFTY

There will be huge interest in the semi-finals of the Upcoming TIME Puppy Derby mini-open 525.

Both heats feature some promising pups and they could well provide some clues for the classic the stake is named after.

There are a number of promising sorts in the opening heat but slight preference is for Magical Be Nifty. She boasts some superb form around Galway and can make a bold bid from trap four. Droopys Gallant has fine early speed and is set to race prominently while Droopys Porter did enough in the Denis Linehan Solicitors Open Unraced at Corek to suggest he too can get involved.

MONK SET TO MAKE A SPLASH

It’s a kennel companion to Droopys Porter that catches the eye in Heat 2.

Droopys Monk displayed huge promise around Cork and looks tailor-made for Shelbourne Park. With a level start, he can take some beating. Magical Warrior and Crash Bang Will have more experience in Dublin and are seen as the main dangers.

The semi-finals of the Three Nights A Week @Shelbourne A2, the Talking Dogs A1 550 and the Sporting Press AO NB 525 are also part of tonight’s card which gets underway at 7.42pm.
