A brilliant performance from Bouncing Monarch lit up the 2026 Con & Annie Kirby Memorial final as the exciting young star stormed to victory in a stunning new track record time of 27.77.

Trained by Michael O'Donovan, Bouncing Monarch showed electric early pace, flying from traps and immediately taking control of the race. From that moment on, the result was never in doubt, as he powered around the circuit with authority to claim the prestigious title and the €80,000 winner’s prize.

A son of Deerjet Sydney and Lemon Elsa, Bouncing Monarch was bred by David O'Connor and is owned by David Fradgely.
There was also cause for celebration beyond the track, as Effin GAA Club enjoyed a memorable success as the nominated club. Their association with Bouncing Monarch secured them a €10,000 prize and a free benefit night, adding to a fantastic night for all involved.
The 2026 renewal of the Con & Annie Kirby Memorial once again showcased the very best of greyhound racing, with Bouncing Monarch’s sensational display set to be remembered as one of the standout performances in the competition’s history.
