TETRA DESTINY (Ballymac Bolger-Stouke Nova), for the Benalmadena Syndicate, went quickest on the clock in the second round of the €7,500 to the winner Pegasus Cup at Curraheen Park on Saturday night.
The 2-1 winner came away racing from trap three and the in form tracker slipped around in front. Dashgrove Cody was trying hard to get on terms heading down the back straight but the one in front was displaying plenty to speed.
Oriental King, quickest in the opening round, kept on well from halfway, but the winner was strong and he recorded back to back wins in 28.58. Oriental King was two lengths back in second with two and a half lengths back to Vedfield Tiger in third place.
In the second heat, Killavullen Jet (Ballyhimikin Jet-Please Cabella) was another to make it back to back wins with a fine display of early speed to win for the Haven For One Syndicate.
In front early, the impressive 3-1 winner flew down the back straight and it was another superb display from trap three. Ballycowen Moon made late headway for second, but he was still three and a half lengths back in 28.75. Three quarters of a length back to Certificate in third place.
Displaying massive early speed after a moderate break from trap six in the opening heat, Killough Sniper (Pestana-Bees Dream) went on to score for Derek Loughnane. The 5-4 favourite flew to the front soon after the opening bends and he kept on well to beat Butterbridge Guv, by three lengths, in 28.85. Two and a half lengths back to Super Syd in third.
