EXCITING AAYAMZA PAIR CORN CUCHULAINN BOUND

Mark Wallis, eleven times champion trainer in the UK, has long had an association with Karol Ramsbottom and the latter confirmed yesterday that he had taken hold of two inmates from Wallis’ Suffolk base with a crack at the Corn Cuchulainn in mind.

Aayamza Royale and Aayamza Express are amongst the fastest in training across the pond and both would have to be seen as serious contenders for Ireland’s staying classic if they can reproduce their best form.

Of course, Romford Champion Stakes winner Aayamza Express is no stranger to Ramsbottom as she started her career on these shores and produced some incredible performances around Shelbourne Park in 2018, reaching the final of the Oaks, before making the move to the UK.

Aayamza Royale started her career at Galway for Maura Molloy before making quite a splash over staying distances in the UK earlier this year. She remains unbeaten over six bends and looks a very special stayer indeed.

The daughter of Ballymac Eske really starts to move as they enter the back straight and powers up the home straight. The 750yd trip around Shelbourne Park should be right up her street.

Karol Ramsbottom reported both bitches in fine form, “They settled in great. Express actually started with me so she should be fine and Royale seems very happy. I’ve had them a few days and gave them a spin around Kilkenny and I’ll give them an official trial at Shelbourne in a week/10 days.”
